The Giver Part 4

Okay so I finished the book 'The Giver' and now am going to sum it up. Jonas finds out that Gabe will be released and steals himself and Gabe away to find the other places that await them far away. They face tortuous times as the are hungry and being tracked down by the community. But they escape perfectly and live in the town that has love and things that Jonas has only ever seen in the memories. After 'The Giver' there is (yes it's a series; the surprises continue) 'Gathering Blue' and 'Messenger'. In 'Messenger' Jonas comes back as a character, now older. And if you liked 'The Giver' you may also like 'Crow Country'. Sure, they are pretty different but it's a good story.

P.S. The Giver is now one of my favourite books.
P.P.S. I doubt I will be reviewing 'Gathering Blue' and 'Messenger'. Soz

The Giver Part 3

The Giver gives Jonas the memories by placing his hands on Jonas's back. His family unit (Jonas's) has, for a while, taken care of a new child called Gabe. He has light eyes too and, by accident, one day Jonas at night whilst trying to lull him back to sleep he gave him a memory of a boat! That's all. Oh wait! There also is no color! How dumb.

Anyway so he goes to the 'Giver' and he is transpitted the memory of 'snow', 'runners', 'sled', 'downhill', 'sunshine' and 'sunburn'. And so sorry, but that's all I'm up to so SEE YA!

The Giver Part 1

So my teacher (no names and shout out to her!) is reading my class a class novel called 'The Giver'. We're about a 1/4 through it and I thought 'I could review what we read each week!'. SOOOOOOO I will. This is 'The Giver'

I am really enjoying this book at the moment! So Jonas lives- Well, I don't know where or when but in a place with so many rules! They are originally called numbers- wait! Look at this:

Those are some of the ridiculous rules. After 12 you're an adult and you can't choose your job, it's chosen for you and age doesn't matter. So Jonas is worried about the ceremony of 12. He's worried of what his assignment will be. But when it comes he isn't assigned but selected. He's chosen to become the 'Receiver of Memory' and is sent to the Giver. Now Jonas is special. He has lighter eyes. So one day, he's throwing an apple and he sees it change. And that's all I'm up to. Keep you all updated!

Chris's ghost

Hey all! Soz it took so long for me to write a new review, I've been busy. Besides, I've found a really good book to review:):):):)!

Okay, let's get this started; this book (I don't know where or when this was set- sorry!) is about a girl called Christina (or Chris preferably) who instead of staying with her aunt with her younger sister she has to stay, alone, with her grumpy uncle who (she thinks) hates her. But things start to change when she starts to see a little boy in a sailor's outfit. It turns out that the boy was a ghost of a child, murdered under Chris's very roof! Then the attic appears to be haunted. Chris tried to block it out by putting a chest in front of it but in the middle of the night she hears it getting pushed aside. And that turns out to be a ghost of a murdered man who was a tutor/run-away criminal. But you can fill out those details about him. So as they (Chris and..... her uncle (yes her uncle)!) start to unravel the mystery Chris and her uncle start to get along! They find out that he's after some rare stamps hidden somewhere. Chris and her uncle spend a day looking for them, and find them at last! I won't tell you where for two reason: 1. Cliff hanger (almost) 2. I forgot. Anyway, back to the story. Then the go out to a cafe to reward themselves and sleep in the car overnight instead of going home. Before they leave they give the stamps to the police, baffled because the mystery was about 30 years old! (Or at least, I think they handed them in. If I wasn't right please comment and tell me how. Thanks!).

At a glance:
 Title: Chris's Ghost
Author: Betty Ren Wright
Publisher: Apple Paperbacks
Target Age: 10-11
Tweenie's Rating: 10 stars (that's the highest)

Hope you like it!

The Chroinicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe

This is The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

This is my 2nd favourite Narnia book. So let me make something clear: My favourite character is Susan Pevensie. Anyway, this book was set in the II world war in London. The mains are The Pevensies; Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. Peter is 13, Susan is 12, Edmund is 10 and Lucy is 9. Their mother sent them to live with old Digory Kirke. When they explore the house the come across a rrom with only a wardrobe with a dead blue bottle fly on the window sill (Honestly Edmund, you had to point it out?!). When the rets leave Lucy's curiousity gets the best out of her and she looks inside the Wardrobe and finds Narnia. She meets Mr Tumnus the faun. After Mr Tumnus confides in Lucy that he's supposed to kidnap every Son of Adam and Daughter of Eve (Humans). Mr Tumnus leads Lucy home and she runs after her siblings. Now in Narnia it had been hours. In our world, however, it had been a mere second! No-one will believe Lucy's 'story'. Next the play hide-and-seek and Lucy goes straight to the Wardrobe room and goes in the Wardrobe. Edmund follows and does the same and  MEETS THE WHITE WITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She enchants him with magic turkish delight that whoever eats it will want more and more of it. The rest still don't believe Lucy..........................Until they all end up in  Narnia and meet a beaver who takes them to see Aslan the great creator of Narnia. Quietly Edmund slips out to seek the Witch. Wrong move Ed! After Peter, Susan, Lucy and the Beavers arrive at Aslan's camp a wolf from the White Witch attacks Susan and Lucy and Peter saves them by defeating them. When the Witchn hears she is furious. After Edmund is returned to the Pevensies Aslan makes a deal with the Witch that instead of Edmund dieing, it's Aslan. The Witch kills Aslan and declares war. After the sun rises, Aslan comes alive again and defeats the Witch. The Pevensies become Kings and Queen at Cair Paravel for 15 years, untill thye blunder back to London hunting the White Stag who gives you three wishes if you catch him. It had been a minute in our world so instead of Kings and Queens of the age of 28, 27, 25 and 24 but kids at the ages of 13,12,10 and 9. They're baffled. Anyway, I like this story because it's full of adventure and loyalty (sort of).
